Want to make sure your books are always tidy? ANNA’s new Bookkeeping Score feature means you never have to stress.
Filing your annual accounts and taxes doesn’t have to be stressful. With ANNA’s new Bookkeeping Score, you can see at a glance how tidy your books are and what you can do to keep everything in order. The higher your score, the less admin you’ll face at the end of the year.
How It Works
ANNA automatically keeps your bookkeeping on track in two ways:
• Matching receipts and invoices – ANNA pairs your receipts with the right transactions.
• Categorising payments – ANNA sorts your expenses into categories like business travel, marketing, or office rent.
When your receipts are attached and your transactions are correctly categorised, your Bookkeeping Score will be 100%. If it’s lower, it’s ANNA’s way of letting you know a few actions are needed.
What Your Score Means
Your score can drop in two main situations:
- Missing documentation – Any single purchase over $300 (incl. GST) without a receipt or invoice will lower your Bookkeeping Score.
- Unclear expense categories – Sometimes ANNA isn’t sure what a payment was for. In those cases, it will ask for your confirmation before restoring your Bookkeeping Score.
Keeping your Bookkeeping Score high means less admin for you later, and more peace of mind when it’s time to file your accounts and taxes.
Disclaimer: By law, to claim business deductions, you need to keep evidence for all business purchases. For claiming GST credits, the ATO requires tax invoices for any purchase over $82.50 (incl. GST).
Spot Potential Tax Savings
Bookkeeping Score can also flag potential tax savings. For example, if an expense is initially classed as non-business but can be confirmed as business-related, your tax bill could be lower. ANNA will alert you in the score section when a potential saving is found—more money in your pocket!
Quick, Simple, Stress-Free
When ANNA spots a missing receipt or unclear category, it nudges you to take action. All you need to do is confirm the category or attach the receipt, and your score goes back up to 100%. It’s fast, easy, and keeps your books in tip-top shape.

You can check your Bookkeeping Score in the ANNA mobile app:
- Go to the Accounting Briefcase section; Or
